Our client, a market leading organisation in the FMCG industry, is looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their team.
The position is responsible for the following:
Managing all incoming goods to the site, and inventory levels on site, ensuring accurate records and system entries.
Identifying variance and highlight to the Production team.
Ensure sufficient quantities of supplies and packaging are available to meet the production requirements and enable 100% supply to external customers.
Manage all pallet transactions affecting the site.
Undertake all purchasing activities (packaging, supplies, consumables).
Undertake other improvement projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
The position is full time based on 37.5 hours per week, however there is a requirement to work additional hours from time to time to meet the needs of the role:
Previous experience in a purchasing role is essential.
An understanding of logistical requirements.
Information Technology: knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook & Syspro.
Superb reconciliation skills and a proven ability to problem solve.
Exceptional communication skills.
The ability to work as part of a wider team and produce accurate up to date information.
Good organisational skills, with the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
An eye for detail and the ability to effectively multi task.
